Landscape Design Types Becoming a Responsibility
Most individuals take great pride in the way their personal property looks. They also have the hope that those living around them in their neighborhood will take pride in their property. Most people do some form of landscaping on various levels. But what about the open space that may be present and is not being well looked after?
This type of property is usually the responsibility of the government. But, it costs a lot of money to maintain landscape public property especially when there is so much of it.
A new approach
The UK government may be taking a new approach. At least after Brexit comes into play. There may be a public scheme that includes payments for public goods which will encourage some to become more pro active in some forms of landscaping.
What Will it Entail?
It is still in the early planning stages. Basically it will mean that those who commit to looking after a specific landscape will get paid for doing this. It may mean planting some form of meadow. Or methods that will help make easier access to parts of the countryside.
Following an Example
The idea for this comes from Switzerland where a program similar to this is already in place. Farmers in rural areas receive a certain amount of money for tending to the landscape.
Landscaping is primarily looked at for its esthetic benefits. But, it also plays an important role in the health of the environment. Taking care of the grounds often requires the planting of trees and shrubs. Also, seeding for grass and maintaining it. The roots of these items are instrumental in trapping the pollutants that come from rainwater. When they do this it can help to reduce the pollution that affects the underground waters. Not to mention that this type of landscaping also helps to reduce carbon dioxide.
